Canyon and Esperanza are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Comanches will host the Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Canyon's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Esperanza has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Canyon and Pacifica, and Canyon kept the tradition alive. The Comanches had just enough and edged out the Mariners 5-4.

Meanwhile, Esperanza started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Cypress. They fell just short of the Centurions by a score of 5-3 on Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Aztecs have lost by exactly two runs.

Esperanza saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Korte, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was Korte's first of the season. Erin Bigani was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Canyon's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Esperanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-21.

Canyon skirted past Esperanza 5-3 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Comanches have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aztecs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
