Soccer Game Preview: Strathmore vs. Orange Cove

Strathmore and Orange Cove are an even 4-4-1 against one another since December of 2014, but likely not for long. The Strathmore Spartans will host the Orange Cove Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Strathmore fell victim to Lindsay and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 891st, while the Cardinals are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Orange Cove also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Orosi on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Strathmore's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-5. As for Orange Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2.

Strathmore took their victory against Orange Cove when the teams last played back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 9-1. In that contest, Strathmore amassed a halftime lead of 4-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
