Football Recap: Wren Takes a Loss

While it was Wren who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was T.L. Hanna who put up more. The Hurricanes fell 40-27 to the Yellow Jackets. The loss continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost six in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Wren lost, don't look at Carson Bryant. Despite the final result, he rushed for 86 yards on only ten carries, and also picked up 62 receiving yards.

Emari Nance had an outrageously good game for T.L. Hanna as he rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Nance a new career-high. Elijah Grimes helped out on the ground, rushing for 84 yards.

Wren's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for T.L. Hanna, they pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wren will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Woodruff at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for T.L. Hanna, they will host Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Yellow Jackets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
