Basalt lost against North Fork back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Longhorns fell 3-1 to the Miners. The Longhorns' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Basalt started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.

Ellysia Guillonta paced Basalt's offense, picking up ten kills. Guillonta got some help from Lilly Archibeque and her 26 assists. Lily Hubbard controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Basalt's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for North Fork, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Basalt will venture away from home to face off against Steamboat Springs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for North Fork, they will head out to square off against Plateau Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
