Basketball Game Preview: Platte Valley Broncos vs. Weld Central Rebels

The Platte Valley Broncos will head out to take on the Weld Central Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Platte Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, everything went Platte Valley's way against Liberty Common as Platte Valley made off with a 63-39 victory. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

It was another big night for Lauryn Uyemura, who went 9-for-19 en route to 22 points and eight steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 35 times she's played. Kennedi Nelson was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, Weld Central played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-26 defeat at the hands of University. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Platte Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Weld Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-15.

Everything came up roses for Platte Valley against Weld Central in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, as the team secured a 60-8 win. In that contest, Platte Valley amassed a halftime lead of 50-2, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
