Basketball Recap: Smith Center Gets the Win

Smith Center won the last time they faced Oakley and things went their way on Friday too. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Smith Center Redmen made off with a 49-48 win over the Oakley Plainsmen. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Redmen.

Smith Center had a senior duo take command as Mason Enochs dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards and Kyler Elliott went 8 of 14 on his way to 18 points along with six boards and three steals. Enochs also set a new season-high mark in steals with seven. Brant Wilson was another key player, putting up eight points.

Smith Center's record now sits at 2-4. As for Oakley, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Smith Center will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ellis at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. Oakley also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Decatur Community at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
