Nick Gonzales, Highland's leader in runs on the season, led the team again on Wednesday. Gonzales was dynamite, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Highland: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6-1 otherwise.

Gonzales' strong effort led Highland over Eastside and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are a perfect 9-0 against the Lions going back to April of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
