Baseball Recap: Bowling Green's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northview, Bowling Green was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Springfield Blue Devils a 14-0 shutout. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bobcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Kasey Dean was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bowling Green's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 3-15 when he doesn't). Carter Earl was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Bowling Green's win bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Springfield, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

Bowling Green will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
