Baseball Recap: Orange Grove Has No Trouble Against Santa Gertrudis Academy

Orange Grove barely beat Santa Gertrudis Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lions on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Zach Wright made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Linden Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Matthew Martinez was another key player, earning three runs and two stolen bases.

Orange Grove's win bumped their record up to 13-8-1. As for Santa Gertrudis Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-18 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
