Baseball Recap: Jack Britt Beats Hoke County for Their Third Straight Victory

Jack Britt barely beat Hoke County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Jack Britt Buccaneers blew past the Hoke County Bucks 12-5 on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Buccaneers, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Ryder Blackburn and Trace Fowler made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Blackburn tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fowler struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. At the plate, Blackburn scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Fowler went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Cameron Byers was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Cale Strickland was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Jack Britt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoke County only managed four hits.

Jack Britt's record now sits at 3-0. As for Hoke County, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jack Britt will square off against Douglas Byrd at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Jack Britt their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Hoke County, they will challenge Scotland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Scotland's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
