East Rankin Academy had to settle for second on Monday, but Will McGee sure wasn't going down easily. McGee pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. The effort also marked the fewest walks (two) he has had since back in March of 2024.

McGee and East Rankin Academy will face off against Newton County Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Generals thanks in part to McGee: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.
