Basketball Recap: Blair Benner's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tri-West Hendricks over Lafayette Central Catholic

Tri-West Hendricks lost against Lafayette Central Catholic back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins fell just short of the Lafayette Central Catholic Knights by a score of 55-52. The Bruins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bruins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blair Benner, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Benner a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Anthony, who posted ten points along with seven assists and six boards.

Even though they lost, Tri-West Hendricks smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in five consecutive contests.

Tri-West Hendricks' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Tri-West Hendricks didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-57 victory against Anderson on the 27th. As for Lafayette Central Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-38 win against Tri on the 27th.
