Basketball Recap: Calexico Mission Takes a Loss

Calexico Mission lost against Mountain Empire back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The RoadRunners took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Redhawks.

Despite the loss, Calexico Mission still got an impressive performance from Sergio Jacobo, who posted 21 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Elliot Zazueta was another key player, putting up nine points.

Calexico Mission dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mountain Empire, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season.

While Calexico Mission had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
