Softball Recap: Liberty Falcons vs. Century Jaguars
Liberty extended their losing streak to 13 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-18 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Century Jaguars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jaguars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 on May 2nd.
Natalie Rabe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
As for Century, their victory bumped their record up to 10-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Liberty since April 22, 2019.
On Century's side, Alyssa Loza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Loza has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one double.
In other batting news, Hailey Kinney was excellent, going 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
As of now, neither Liberty nor Century have any future games scheduled.
