Basketball Game Preview: Victory Christian Academy Knights vs. St. Monica Mariners

The Victory Christian Academy Knights will take on the St. Monica Mariners in a tournament on Thursday. Victory Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully St. Monica likes a good challenge.

Victory Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of Cherokee Trail by a score of 70-67.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Angel Ochoa, who went 9 of 14 en route to 21 points. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Gray, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, St. Monica beat Palos Verdes 38-32 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mariners.

St. Monica's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
