Piedmont Academy was sadly handed a defeat on Friday, but Zach Simmons did his best to prevent it. Simmons tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. The performance marked the fewest hits he has had since back in March.

Simmons and Piedmont Academy will be playing at home against Tattnall Square Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
