Basketball Game Preview: Ocean Springs Greyhounds vs. Brandon Bulldogs

The Ocean Springs Greyhounds and the Brandon Bulldogs will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Brandon took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Ocean Springs, who comes in off a win.

Last Thursday, Ocean Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Martin, taking the game 51-41.

Meanwhile, Brandon came up short against Pearl on Friday and fell 64-54.

Ocean Springs will need to focus on slowing down Elijah Morey, one of several Brandon players who made an impact when they last played. He posted eight points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave Morey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Barnes, who put up 17 points.

Even though they lost, Brandon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Brandon's loss dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Ocean Springs, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Ocean Springs took a serious blow against Brandon in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, falling 73-41. Can Ocean Springs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
