Volleyball Recap: Topsail Gets the Win + How To Watch

Topsail proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a set and slipped past the South Central Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since October 16, 2024.

Topsail was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (97-95), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-14, 15-12.

Lily Long went supernova, getting 13 digs and three aces. Those 13 digs gave her a new career-high. Kaili Grenier also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Topsail was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are a perfect 6-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Topsail has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for South Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Topsail will face off against New Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Central, they will square off against D.H. Conley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
