Southwest Christian and New Life Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Southwest Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Stars' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Southwest Christian actually scored more points across those five sets (110-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 22-25, 16-25, 26-24, 25-21, 17-15.

Despite the loss, Southwest Christian still got an impressive performance from Lauren Paradise, who had 17 digs and eight assists. Paradise is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Southwest Christian's loss dropped their record down to 17-14. As for New Life Academy, they pushed their record up to 26-4-1 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Southwest Christian has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against New London-Spicer on the 7th. New Life Academy has also already played their next contest (against Hawley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
