Basketball Recap: Redondo Union Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Sunnyslope

The Redondo Union Sea Hawks didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Sunnyslope Vikings on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 68-64 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Sea Hawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' national basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th in California, while the Vikings are ranked ninth in Arizona).

Redondo Union has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 66.5 points this season. As for Sunnyslope, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Redondo Union will take on Democracy Prep Agassi Campus at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sunnyslope, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
