Softball Recap: Willow Spring Triumphs

Willow Spring let Fuquay - Varina stack four runs on them in the sixth inning on Friday but luckily Willow Spring prevailed anyway. The Storm had just enough and edged out the Bengals 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Storm: when they faced off against the Bengals back in March, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

The team relied heavily on Betzy Garcia-Molina, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Maddie Hanson also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Willow Spring now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Fuquay - Varina, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.

As of now, neither Willow Spring nor the Bengals have any future games scheduled.
