Basketball Game Preview: Cumberland Academy Knights vs. Henderson Lions

Cumberland Academy is 0-8 against Henderson since January of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Cumberland Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Spring Hill on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Cumberland Academy had to suffer through a 61-26 loss at the hands of Spring Hill. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Meanwhile, Henderson came up short against Pine Tree on Friday and fell 50-42.

This is the second loss in a row for Cumberland Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Henderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Cumberland Academy was taken down by Henderson 50-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Cumberland Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
