Basketball Game Preview: Maywood Academy Nighthawks vs. Sotomayor Wolves

Maywood Academy hasn't had much luck against Sotomayor recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Maywood Academy Nighthawks will look to defend their home court against the Sotomayor Wolves at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Maywood Academy came up short against Banning on Monday, falling 54-29. The Nighthawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sotomayor unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 69-48 to Pacifica Christian/Santa Monica.

Maywood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Sotomayor, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Maywood Academy was taken down by Sotomayor 74-34 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Maywood Academy was down 42-22.
