Volleyball Recap: Westerville South Wildcats vs. Big Walnut Golden Eagles
Westerville South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Big Walnut Golden Eagles. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Kendall McClure paced Westerville South's offense, picking up eight kills. McClure got some help from Makenna Tamru and her eight assists. Sasha ` Brownlee controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.
Big Walnut's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peyton Gordon, who had ten digs and two assists. Gordon is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played. Sydney Hamilton was another key player, getting five aces and one assist.
Westerville South now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Big Walnut, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
