Baseball Recap: Florence Victorious

Florence posted their closest victory since March 14th on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Shelby County Wildcats.

Florence has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Shelby County, they moved to 15-5 with that loss, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Florence will face off against Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shelby County, they will take on Normal West at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
