Basketball Game Preview: Kutztown Cougars vs. Northwestern Lehigh Tigers

Kutztown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 64 points last Monday, they were much more limited against Salisbury Township on Friday. They took a 46-30 bruising from the Falcons. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northwestern Lehigh). Everything went their way against Bangor on Monday as Northwestern Lehigh made off with a 69-43 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Slaters are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kutztown's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Northwestern Lehigh, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Kutztown suffered a grim 48-24 defeat to Northwestern Lehigh in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Kutztown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
