Baseball Game Preview: Tri-City Christian Eagles vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

After both having extra time off, the Tri-City Christian Eagles and the Coastal Academy Stingrays will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-City Christian is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Calvin Christian hit Tri-City Christian with a four-run second inning last Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. Eagles fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Crusaders since last Wednesday.

Campbell Gritzen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. Ryan Scheidnes also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, it was close, but last Friday Coastal Academy sidestepped Orange Glen for an 8-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Stingrays.

Tri-City Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Coastal Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
