Softball Recap: Canyon Comes Up Short

Canyon fell victim to East Central and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.

Canyon dropped their record down to 12-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for East Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-8.

Canyon and East Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Cougars will challenge Judson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (216 vs. 711). Meanwhile, East Central (ranked 107th) will meet Clemens (ranked 227th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
