Softball Recap: Eastern Has No Trouble Against Belpre

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marietta, Eastern was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Belpre Golden Eagles as they made off with a 16-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ashlynn Thomas 2027 made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted over her last 11 games.

In other batting news, Eastern got a massive performance out of Rylie White 2027, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI White 2027 has posted since back in March. Makenzie Robertson 2027 also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Eastern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in seven consecutive contests.

Eastern's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Belpre, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.

Coincidentally, Eastern and Belpre will both be playing Warren the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Golden Eagles will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
