Basketball Game Preview: Bloomer Blackhawks vs. Stanley-Boyd Orioles

The Bloomer Blackhawks will square off against the Stanley-Boyd Orioles at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Bloomer beat McDonell Central 51-47.

Meanwhile, Stanley-Boyd came into Tuesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Cadott 68-51 on Tuesday. Given the Orioles' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while the Hornets are ranked 338th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Stanley-Boyd's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7. As for Bloomer, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Bloomer strolled past Stanley-Boyd when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 81-66. Does Bloomer have another victory up their sleeve, or will Stanley-Boyd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
