Nixon put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 90-37 win over Juarez-Lincoln on the road. 90 seems to be a good number for Nixon as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Mason Vela was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 7 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jose Escobar, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rio Grande City strolled past Roma with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-43. Given Rio Grande City's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Roma is ranked 1374th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Everything went Nixon's way against Rio Grande City in their previous matchup back in January as Nixon made off with a 72-52 win. Does Nixon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rio Grande City turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
