Basketball Recap: South Lyon Comes Up Short

South Lyon suffered their closest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the South Lyon East Cougars by a score of 59-56. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 398th, while the Cougars are ranked 173rd).

South Lyon has also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season. As for South Lyon East, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Coming up, South Lyon will challenge Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Lyon East, they will take on Walled Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
