Volleyball Recap: Bayside Academy Takes Down Ranked Cherokee County

Bayside Academy faced Cherokee County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Admirals came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 2-0.

Bayside Academy can attribute much of their success to Mary Katherine Whitehurst, who had 17 digs and three assists. That's the most digs Whitehurst has posted since back in August. Reece Wilmott also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bayside Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Cherokee County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 24-3-1 record.

Bayside Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Indian Springs on the 20th. As for Cherokee County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Helena on the 20th.
