Basketball Recap: Northside Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Northside Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 61-40 to the Westwood Christian Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Northside Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-52 last Monday.

Tripp Kirkland was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 16 boards for Westwood Christian. The contest was Kirkland's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Kirkland, who posted 11 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Northside Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Westwood Christian, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northside Christian Academy will welcome First Christian at 6:15 p.m. on January 24th. As for Westwood Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gainesville Christian Community at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
