Softball Recap: Wayne Triumphs

While Wayne's win against Huntington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers had just enough and edged out the Highlanders 4-2. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Bristol Tiller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Wayne saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Michels, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Wayne's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Huntington, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will take on Buffalo at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Huntington, they will be playing at home against Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
