Baseball Recap: Phillipsburg Comes Up Short

Phillipsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Somerville Pioneers. That's two games in a row now that the Stateliners have lost by exactly five runs.

Phillipsburg's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Somerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

While Phillipsburg had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
