Basketball Game Preview: Freeman Flyers vs. White River Tigers

The Freeman Flyers will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the White River Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Freeman will be strutting in after a win while White River will be coming in after a loss.

Freeman will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Canistota, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Freeman claimed a resounding 76-42 victory over Canistota. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Flyers.

Freeman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Walter, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten steals. Those ten steals gave Walter a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Sorensen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, White River had to suffer through a 78-47 loss at the hands of Santee. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 22nd in South Dakota, while the Warriors are ranked 116th in Nebraska).

Freeman's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for White River, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
