Recap: Glen Lake Lakers vs. Kingsley Stags

After a string of four wins, the Glen Lake Lakers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Kingsley by a score of 53-51. Glen Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kingsley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Despite the loss, Glen Lake still got an impressive performance from Jessie Pugh, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pugh has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eleanor Valkner, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five assists.

Glen Lake's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5. As for Kingsley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Glen Lake will challenge Leland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Leland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Glen Lake is ranked 93rd). As for Kingsley, they will head out on the road to square off against Frankfort at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingsley is coming into the game with three straight wins on the road, meaning Frankfort will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
