Baseball Recap: Bald Knob's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

Bald Knob dropped down to 5-11 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell 6-3 to the Bradford Eagles. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Bald Knob got a good showing from Seften Palomares, who struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). Palomares has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bald Knob saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Glaze, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Glaze's first of the season.

As for Bradford, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

On Bradford's side, Micah Dunn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, Dunn posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Bradford's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Parker Mannon, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bald Knob will host Des Arc at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bradford, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Nemo Vista at 4:30 p.m.
