Basketball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Las Vegas Wildcats

Valley is 2-8 against Las Vegas since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Valley Vikings are taking a road trip to face off against the Las Vegas Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Valley beat Bonanza 70-66.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas came up short against Durango on Wednesday and fell 76-66. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (60), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Valley's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Las Vegas, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Valley barely slipped by Las Vegas when the teams last played back in November of 2023, winning 65-64. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Las Vegas' Tayshaun Jackson, who went 6 for 13 en route to 31 points and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Valley still be able to contain Jackson? There's only one way to find out.
