Softball Game Preview: Hermleigh Cardinals vs. Jonesboro Eagles

For the second straight game, Hermleigh will face off against Jonesboro. The Cardinals will take on the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hermleigh will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Hermleigh is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Jonesboro 10-8.

Peyton Miller was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Dejah Richardson was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Hallie Ellerbe was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs.

Hermleigh's victory bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Jonesboro, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-10.
