Game recap: Kane high school football team defeats Johnsonburg with big 27-point quarter

A big 27-point first quarter helped carry Kane (Pa.) to a 41-0 victory over Johnsonburg (Pa.) on Saturday.

The Wolves scored on a Jonah Smith touchdown run, a touchdown catch by Sean Rolick, a touchdown run by Sean Jordan and a touchdown catch by Rolick in the quarter.

After taking the lead on a Smith touchdown run in the first quarter, Kane led 34-0 at the half.

KHS expanded its lead to 41 points entering the fourth quarter. The Wolves' lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.



A 27-point first quarter set the table for Kane, which coasted the rest of the way for the victory.

Rolick was the top performer for KHS. He caught two touchdowns and kicked two extra points. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.

The Wolves entered the contest giving up 28.2 points per game this year.

Kane also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.

The defeat comes as a step back for Johnsonburg, which notched a 13-12 victory over Ridgway in its previous outing.

Kane (4-3) goes up against Ridgway in a Allegheny Mountain - Southern game matchup next week, while Johnsonburg (2-5) locks horns with Brockway also in a Allegheny Mountain - Southern game.
