Ralston owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against the Platteview Trojans by a score of 4-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-4 on April 1st.

The result came thanks to Dallas Whetzal's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brayden Vandervort was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Cade Stix, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Ralston is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Platteview, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ralston is set to challenge their familiar foe Platte Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Platteview will face off against rival Wayne on Monday.
