Baseball Recap: Huron Snaps 14-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Huron dropped their record down to 22-5 on Thursday, which also ended the team's 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brother Rice Warriors. The Chiefs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Huron saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Myles Grace, who went 3-for-4 with one run. Another was Noah Banas, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

As for Brother Rice, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

On Brother Rice's side, they let Cash Van Ameyde and Cole VanAmeyde run wild. Van Ameyde went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while VanAmeyde went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Tristan Turner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

While Huron had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
