Preview: Raritan Rockets vs. Spotswood Chargers
The Raritan Rockets will head out on the road to face off against the Spotswood Chargers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Raritan has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Spotswood will arrive with six straight wins.
Raritan suffered their biggest loss since December 21, 2023 on Thursday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-34 walloping at the hands of Neptune. While losing is never fun, Raritan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Neptune is ranked 95th).
Meanwhile, Spotswood put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Carteret with a sharp 64-43 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Spotswood has posted since December 18, 2023.
Raritan bumped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Spotswood, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
