Football Game Preview: St. Francis Spartans vs. Providence Catholic Celtics + How To Watch

The St. Francis Spartans will take on the Providence Catholic Celtics at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

St. Francis is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 35-13 margin over Belvidere North. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

A big part of St. Francis' win came down to the chemistry between Brock Phillip and his top target Tanner Glock. Phillip threw for 143 yards and three TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes while Glock picked up 83 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Glock a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They came out on top against the Bengals by a score of 31-21. The Celtics pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bengals cut but never quite recovered from.

Providence Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for St. Francis, their win bumped their record up to an identical 10-3.

St. Francis beat Providence Catholic 47-35 when the teams last played back in September. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Celtics have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
