Basketball Game Preview: Quitman Bulldogs vs. Troup Tigers

The Quitman Bulldogs will square off against the Troup Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Quitman will be strutting in after a win while Troup will be coming in after a loss.

Quitman took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Grand Saline to the tune of 46-19. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while the Indians are ranked 917th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troup has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against Tatum on Tuesday, falling 61-14. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Quitman has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.6 points per game. As for Troup, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-8.
