Winning always takes teamwork, but on Wednesday Erin McDaid stepped things up a notch to give Smithtown West the 'W'. McDaid made a splash, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She was up against East Islip and has quite the history against that squad, as she also had a great game the last time she faced them back in April. McDaid has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.

McDaid's effort led Smithtown West over East Islip and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
