Preview: Rhodes Rams vs. East Tech Scarabs
The Rhodes Rams will square off against the East Tech Scarabs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
In what's become a running theme this season, Rhodes gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past John F. Kennedy 63-40. The win was nothing new for Rhodes as they're now sitting on four straight.
Meanwhile, it may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but East Tech ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They walked away with a 73-62 win over Cleveland Central Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for East Tech.
George Thomas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Chris Simon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Rhodes is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for East Tech, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Rhodes won a game that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by East Tech 53-52. Will Rhodes repeat their success, or does East Tech have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
