Baseball Game Preview: Narrows Green Waves vs. George Wythe Maroons

The Narrows Green Waves will challenge the George Wythe Maroons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. George Wythe took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Narrows, who comes in off a win.

While Narrows' victory against Giles wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Green Waves sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Spartans on Friday. The Green Waves haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for George Wythe's offense. They came up short against Fort Chiswell on Friday, falling 9-0. The Maroons haven't had much luck with the Pioneers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

George Wythe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cade Bralley, who went 3-for-4 with one double. Bralley is on a roll when it comes to hits, as he's now got three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

George Wythe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8-1. As for Narrows, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Everything went Narrows' way against George Wythe in their previous matchup back in April, as Narrows made off with a 12-4 victory. Will the Green Waves repeat their success, or do the Maroons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
